When it comes to Medicare, there are basically 3 options you need to choose from. Medicare supplements (also known as Medigap plans), Medicare Advantage plans (also known as part C), and prescription drug plans (part D).

Little to no out of pocket expenses.
Freedom to go anywhere Medicare is accepted.

Premiums can be high and increase annually. Must purchase drug coverage separately. Does not cover dental, vision or hearing.

Medicare Advantage plans are Medicare Health Plans offered through private insurance companies (like Unitedhealthcare, Humana, Selecthealth, Aetna, etc) and are considered all-in-one plans. What this means is, most Medicare Advantage plans have coverage for all the parts of original medicare (hospital, doctors, etc) but also have built in part D (drug coverage) and dental, vision and hearing plans.
